GOOD OL' HOMEMADE ART

Lets be totally honest....I'm not very good at picking out art. In fact I'm not really a fan of a lot of art thats out there. Even though I'm an interior designer and thats suppose to be my thing, its not! I recently had a discussion about art with a coworker. Nothing too in depth just likes and dislikes, and I came to the realization that I don't have a type or style that I like or care about. I really just like what I like, simple as that.

Now lets not forget that I live with a boy, who has the total opposite design sense from me, so picking out any sort of art just doesn't work. I have been reading a lot of posts over at Young House Love about making your own art from items you love. For an example this is one piece of art they made here:

I took their concept of art and decided to try it out for myself. I had given my boyfriend this great card for Valentine's Day. It has a strong graphic, which is what I love, and you can instantly understand the meaning behind it.

I got a picture frame from Kohl's that already had a white matte board around it to frame the card and not to mention it was on a great sale at 55% off!

All I did was pop the back off, removed the picture place holder sheet, and inserted my fun Valentine's Day card, and ta-da!

I love this piece of art because nobody else has it and its the perfect way to keep sentimental gifts in great condition!

I mentioned how much I love my bed and being in it. If I could live out of my bed I would. Its so cozy and just makes you wanna snuggle into it. I found more bedrooms that I love for different reasons. Some of the decor I would never have thought to try. Hope you enjoy looking at some of these fun bedrooms and get some inspiration from them.

NATURALLY NORTHWEST

Its finally here! I have been trying to convince my mother to start her own Etsy shop to sell all the things she loves...and she has finally done it!!! However, that meant I had to help her set it up...I designed a logo for her as well as an icon for her shop, Naturally Northwest. 

My mother's shop announcement says all there is to say about her design philosophy and love of all things found in nature:
"The Pacific Northwest is abundant with woods, water, and open spaces. I explore, collect and create from all things natural from where I live. My passion is collecting and preserving the beauty that I find everyday from my walks and explorations on the shores of the Puget Sound and the coniferous forests surrounding where I live and play."

NEW PRODUCT!

So I am still dabbling in my new found love of being crafty and since have started playing around with clothespins. I just think they can be a great alternative to picture frames or paper clips, and are something so small, but can add so much to decor or an occasion. This is my first color story of clothespins for my etsy shop. Hope you like and check back for more color stories!

Its here! I have just opened my etsy shop and listed my first two items.

FAV BEDROOMS

I have always loved my bedroom, its been a place of refuge, rest, and relaxation.  I like to make my bedroom fun and colorful, but restful enough I can still sleep! I found some inspiration bedrooms with creative headboards and interesting color schemes that are unique in their own ways.  Here are some of my favorites:

This one is my favorite! I think it is so creative and soothing for a headboard.

This one is my favorite color combination. I love bold, dark, and saturated colors in the bedroom.  It makes it like a cave that I can crawl into and sleep the night (or day) away.
